What the network is actually like

The UK networks reach anywhere populated with 4G, and most cities with 5G. The famous weak spots are rural Wales, the Scottish Highlands and long stretches of the West Coast Main Line. Since the UK left the EU, free roaming between a UK SIM and the continent is no longer guaranteed by law in either direction, which is why a separate travel eSIM makes sense both ways.
