United States eSIM questions

Which networks does the United States eSIM use?
Verizon and AT&T. Your phone joins whichever of them has signal. Speeds are up to what the local network and your phone support.
When does the plan start?
It depends on the plan: each plan's details say whether the clock starts when you install the eSIM or when it first connects. You have 180 days from purchase to install it.
Can I share the data as a hotspot?
Hotspot and tethering work, as far as your phone allows, and use the same data.
Does it come with a phone number?
Data only: no phone number, calls or texts. WhatsApp, FaceTime, Signal and iMessage work over data.
Can I top up if I run out?
Yes, on most plans: top up from your order page, on the same eSIM, without installing anything new.
How much data do I need in the United States?
10GB for a fortnight if you're driving, and you probably are. American cities have you navigating constantly, and offline maps for the national parks aren't optional.
Can I get a refund?
An eSIM that hasn't been installed is refundable in full for 180 days after purchase. Once it's installed on a phone it isn't, because the network has issued it by then, and neither is one left uninstalled past 180 days. Unused data at the end of a plan isn't refunded.
