eSIM for Sweden

Covered by our Europe plan, from $10.00.

What the network is actually like

The south, where nearly everyone lives, is very well covered. Sweden is enormous and the far north is sparsely covered outside towns and main roads. Note that Sweden is close to cashless: many places won't take notes at all.

Networks: Telenor, Tre, Telia

How much data you'll need

5GB for a week in the south. The north is another matter. Get your maps down first, because the gaps between towns are long.

Where people go

  • Stockholm

Fourteen islands. The ferries count as public transport.

  • Gothenburg

West coast, seafood, and the archipelago on the doorstep.

  • Kiruna

Far north, for the aurora. The whole town is being physically moved.

What's on

Timings are month-level, because most of these move year to year.

  • Midsummer

    Friday nearest 24 June

    Nationwide

The country shuts and goes to the countryside. Cities empty completely.

  • Nobel Prize ceremony

    10 December

    Stockholm

Not attendable, but the city makes a week of it.
