Quick answer

A Talisim Thailand eSIM works in Bangkok: 35 plans from $0.60, 100MB–50GB, up to 3G, 4G, 5G, on networks including TrueMove H, DTAC, True Move. Top-ups: yes, on most plans. Data only: no phone number, calls or texts. WhatsApp, FaceTime, Signal and iMessage work over data. Hotspot and tethering work, as far as your phone allows, and use the same data.

Where the signal goes

Good across the city, including the Skytrain and the MRT tunnels. Phones overheat in the afternoon sun, dimming the screen and refusing to charge, so keep yours in the shade.

Getting around

Rabbit card on the BTS Skytrain, contactless bank card on the MRT. River boats skip the traffic. On Grab, set the pickup point in the app; drivers can't stop just anywhere.
